My favorite pho place thank god I don't have to drive to the city anymore! Everyone is so nice especially the owner!! I think the pho is a little overpriced and there's not enough meat in the pho but other than that it's good. It's usually dead when I come in, I think they should advertise better or something because the food so awesome.

This place is profoundly mediocre, profoundly. If you prefer bland Americanized pan-Asian food you will not be disappointed, everyone else will be. Second worst bowl of Pho I have ever had, small and skimpy lacking of any flavor depth and complexity (overly salty and not clear broth)... And the waiter tried to pass off Sambal Oelek as chili oil.

Had the clay pot today and the food was delicious with a lot of heat. I'm glad our waiter asked more than once how spicy I wanted my dish. It came out exactly as I prefer, with kick but not so hatefullly hot it can't be enjoyed. My cousin had pork wonton soup and he said it was great. He burned through his spring rolls pretty quickly so I'm going to assume they were good too. Will definitely come back. Wasn't busy at noon when we arrived but I think more people should come. The food is great and I'm happy that I don't need to drive into Philly you get good Thai food.

I have a meeting in WC and searched this pho by yelp,. Totally disappointed I live in center city and so many pho are better than this one! I ordered a bamboo pho which cost me 10 bucks and only 3 slice of beef and small bowl of noodle. I have been to more than 10 different pho resturants and this with the highest price lowest quality. I went there noon time 1200 and I am the only customer... I dont know why the other people gave they 4-5 stars but I am really not recommed

Yummy! I had the fried wontons which were the best I've ever had. I had a green papaya salad and my husband had the clay pot with pork - he ordered a 3 on a heat scale of 1 to 4. The waiter warned him - next time he'll try a 2. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal here. The host and servers were really nice and it wasn't too crowded. We love that it's BYO and we're coming back soon.

It was pretty slow here when we stopped in since it was the day after Thanksgiving. It's tucked into a strip mall and the interior has a modern IKEA-esque feel (I recognize those wall lamps). I had the pho, which was a good portion of noodles and beef. The broth, while not amazing, was decent and not too salty. I did not get a chance to try the fried rice or the eggplant which others ordered, but they seemed happy with their choices. Please note that the map pin on Yelp is incorrect and the restaurant is in a strip mall off the 3.

We come here all the time for the clay pot. Always the best. Good service & the owner is so friendly.

You would never guess that this gem is hiding in the shopping center, but they make superb authentic Vietnamese food. I take homesick Vietnamese students from the nearby boarding school out to dinner here from time to time and the response is always the same--it doesn't get any better. Delicious food, a wide array of options, and ample parking. If you don't mind the stip mall ambiance on arival, you can quickly disappear into the good flavors.

Went here for my 9th anniversary with my honey. The Bamboo Sampler for 2 was amazing and very neat, a little of steak and pork with veggies and fresh rice wraps to make yourself, also came with shrimp spring rolls and homemade sauce. The waiter gave us a tutorial on using the wraps. We had iced coffee and ice tea both are creamy and Sweet so good! My hubby had bamboo pho beef and I a spicy version both were delightful! We left so full!!!

We picked up takeout on a snowy evening and got summer rolls, papaya salad and #23 pho. They packed the noodle/sprouts separately from the pho broth/beef/etc so that the noodles wouldn't get soggy. Each one had their own sauce including hot sauce/hoisin for the pho. Pho and summer rolls were perfect. The papaya salad, which included their own beef jerky, had papaya that could have been shredded a little more finer so it was less stringy. Otherwise a good find in the Philly burbs!

my coworker brought me here! GREAT summer rolls, and pho. service is fast and the prices are super cheap. You would expect it to be a hole in the wall but it really isn't. I wish they were opened later but in general they are really really nice about being accomodating here and that is always appreciated.

The best Vietnamese restaurant in the area, eaten here since they opened a few years back. The crispy spring rolls are a must try and everything on the menu is delicious :) The staff is great and the service is amazing.

I noticed that they didn't have any condiment bottle on the table and that got me a little worried. All decent pho places I had been to have condiment bottles on the table. We placed our order and our server came out with a condiment tray. Phew. I had the bamboo pho ($9) and it was pretty good.

Another great meal at Bamboo! Hub just wanted an order of spring rolls and the tapioca seafood soup which is normally just an small individual serving. Our server pointed out that they could do a double portion and serve it in their large bowl. It was perfect and Hub was so happy. If you haven't had their tapioca soup...it's a flavorful clear seafood/ pork broth thickened with these micro tapioca pearls laced with shrimp and crab. It's light and filling. Me, the spicy udon seafood soup full of shrimp, crawfish and crab with side of bean sprout, jalapenos, and lime. Warm and filling for a cool fall evening! The staff and owners are always friendly and attentive. The food is really good. Try it, you'll like it.

Hidden Treasure I was introduced to Vietnamese cuisine many years ago but living in the suburbs do not find a restaurant too often. A coworker told me about Bamboo and the other day took me there for lunch. It was a little far from my office, but not off the beaten pass from my daily commute. The general atmosphere is quite nice, especially for being located within a shopping plaza. The wait staff is friendly and attentive, the food is good and the prices wonderful. I used to drive into the city to dine at a Pho 75 whenever I want some Pho but after discovering Bamboo I can now stay in the suburbs. In fact I will be stopping by on my what home for a bowl of take out tonight.

Interior is kind of bland, but I never frequent a place just for the interior decor or charm. The menu is quite large offering plenty of variety and selection. The food has always been pretty solid but sometimes have failed to "hit the spot". Im pretty spoiled when it comes to viet food (my sister in law is viet) so outside of Philly, this is definatly one of my prefered noodle houses. The prices are just a tad high, but being a BYO, and me being a drinker, I usually make out ok. I am a fan and will definatly be back!

A little pricey for lunch, but the Bamboo Special was delicious and certainly healthier than most alternatives. Will visit again.

Okay. if you are looking for noodle soups, THIS is where you should go :) Following dissappointments in my search to quench my noodle fever, I stumbled into Bamboo with a friend, hoping for the best. It probably also helped that it's BYOB, so I already was fully loaded with a bottle of wine in hand when I walked in the door. (P.S. dont be scared that from the outside it looks more like a cig outlet than a restaurant.) Both my friend and I ordered the crab vermicelli with the spicy chicken broth and shared a side of summer rolls. That, with the white wine and fabulous girl talk, was the perfect combo. The spicy broths have a zing, but wont leave you tasteless. Also, they bring out a quartet of sauces for you to sprinkle into your soup for flavor. I loved all sauces--they made everything so interesting. I will say that I stayed away from the spiciest of the four, but if you like the spice you'll have to let me know if it was good. To accompany your soup, they bring out a plate of greens, lime, and jalepenos, which I think is brilliant. The other places I've been just dumped them all into the soups, but since you can add them at your own pace here, the herbs and sprouts are never wilted :) When we went it was pretty dead... More people should visit this place A) because it's worth it B) so that when my friends and I tell salacious stories, they won't echo into the cavernous void of an empty restaurant (sorry to our server!! ;) ) CONCLUSION: sluuuuurrrrp! :D Quality: Best so far in the West Chester area for noodle soups! Price: A soup dinner plus a split order of summer rolls came to $15 per person. A little more than chipotle, but less than your standard eating out fare in WC.

The prices are a bit on the high side for a Vietnamese restaurant, but the quality is also high. I tried the Cambodian Noodle Soup called "Nam Vang" and it was amazing. I chose the rice noodle as my server recommended, and it is a chicken bone based soup with shrimp, fish cake, pork, etc. The soup was excellent and I loved all the ingredients in the soup. It was worth $10 + tax & tip.

We have been coming here since it opened. We usually have a large group and order an array of dishes. Everything has always come out freshly prepared and just to each individuals liking. The salted fried and clay pots are our favorites. More people should visit this restaurant, I promise, you will not be disappointed.

Finally! A great Vietnamese place with great Pho thats not a far drive! This place is 4 minutes from my house and I'm very thankful for that because its very delicious and very quick. The place is a must of you are in the area and do not feel like driving all the way to upper darby or philly. Enjoy!!

Wings are great. And I've been getting the roast pork and wonton noodle soup lately - good alternative to always getting pho.

We went for my brother's birthday and I had never had pho before. It was delicious as was the rice cake appetizer we shared. My brother, a pho connesieur, found it to be flavorful and very fresh. The service was excellent. I will definitely return.

Yet another good find in the state of PA. Service is great here, which surprises me. Appetizers are expensive but food is paid special attention. I'd say its worth it. Had the summer rolls. Very good. Banh beo hue style was rreeallly good. Had the bun Rieu. (Crab meat noodle soup) Also the bun bo hue. Bun bo hue was soso Bun Rieu was pretty good. Fried banana can't go wrong. A+ would return

The summer rolls came out warm and so loosely wrapped that when I bit into them the rice fell out of the rolls. The pho broth was poorly flavored and we had to use a ton of condiments to make it edible. The service was slow and not friendly. They were really bad about filling up our water glasses. About the only nice thing I can say is that it is a beautifully decorated restaurant. Won't be going back though.

Food and service excellent! I've been trucking around the states looking for good pho and vietnamese food and this is one of the better places I've gone to so far. The food is more refined than a typical viet restaurant and the way everything is served is more refined. You'll see when you get here. We got the banh bo (hue style) it was delicious.

I absolutely love Vietnamese food and I'm envious of the array available in Philadelphia. That said, as a restaurant in the West Chester area, this is about as good as it gets for Vietnamese. Of course, with the suburbs comes an increased (but still reasonable) price and a less diverse menu. Servers are generally very nice and attentive and I can satisfy my bun (vermicelli rice noodle salad) craving easily with the bamboo special. Plus, they bring out a condiment caddy that has a special place in my heart. Now if they only can add some bahn mi I might loose my Philly Vietnamese envy.

Bamboo offers a fairly decent selection of Vietnamese dishes at affordable prices. Offering numerous Pho, noodle, and rice dishes, Bamboo is my go-to place when I feel a craving for Vietnamese cuisine. Their appetizers are delicious as well. Their interior decor and music is calming, which is a plus. Their friendly staff help cement this place as West Chester's best Vietnamese restaurant. If you feel like Vietnamese and don't want to drive an hour to Philadelphia, Bamboo is your best option.

We were looking for good hot Pho on one of the stormy snow days in December 2013. Only had the beef Pho and Vietnamese coffee - double yum for each.

OK Pho, really all i have had there. I think the biggest thing is the portion is not big enough for the price. But i have Pho in WC, can not beat that.

I've been here twice now for lunch. There seems to be a slow lunch crowd, sometimes I'm all by myself, but that has no relation to the food. I've had noodle soups both times. #22 and #30. Condiments were fresh and taste was awesome. I'll keep coming back as long as they keep serving it up.

I work near the location in Frazer and would eat there from time to time. But driving there from my home is a bit far so I was looking forward to this location. It's always nice to have another Asian restaurant without having to go into the city. Their pho is okay, still a bit away from Pho Ha or Pho 75 on Washington Ave. But the location in the suburbs definitely helps. My first and only visit here was a bit disappointing. The quality of the food is the same as the location in Frazer. However, the service was ridiculously slow! I went with my parents. Besides the three of us, there were only two couples there. I was expecting fast service given the fact that the place was near empty. I think the gentleman that seated us was the only one working. He would go into the kitchen and not come out for a few minutes. I'm not sure how the service is not, I'm hoping it's better now. I should go back and visit it again....until then, I can only give it an okay rating. The food isn't the best or authentic.

I went here twice. Ordered the PHO and later ordered a noodle dish. Both were well under par and lacked flavor. There are much better Vietnamese restaurants in the suburbs for true foodies.

Wow!! This noodle soup is the most delicious I have ever had. I always go for #30 - roasted pork and wonton with egg noodles. It is to die for, perfect on a cold night. We also enjoy the grilled chicken meat rolls, spring rolls, and shrimp rolls. My fiance loves their clay pot chicken too. I wasn't sure what Vietnamese cuisine would entail, but it feels like a healthier version of Chinese food. The very friendly staff can give you suggestions if you're not sure what to order. I love having this restaurant up the street. This winter it's made many cold nights much better with a bowl of noodle soup!

This is the worst restaurant that I have ever been to. Service is poor. Food is soso. We have to go to another restaurant afterwards to get some real food. I will never come again. I would not recommend it to any of my friends.

The Pho (with chicken) was delicious and fresh with sides of cilantro, mint and sprouts. We also had a spicy clay bowl, scrumptious spring rolls and Duong Chau Fried Rice. The service was friendly and quick and the prices were good. We can't wait to go back again (Westtown Location).
